F.A.Q

Which month is best for Serengeti migration?

From late June to August is the best time. This is when the Great Migration peaks (late June to August) making it arguably the best time to visit Serengeti. Depending on the movement of the animals and where exactly in the Serengeti National Park you are going on safari.

How many days do you need for Serengeti safari?

Serengeti is a huge national park so we would recommend minimum four days in order to properly explore it and find the wildlife. Being so large, you do need to spend time driving around looking for the Big Five, which takes time. Plus in four days you'll experience different weather and a variety of safari experiences.

What is the timing of Serengeti migration?

May-July is the period that the wildebeest, after having feasted on the short green grasses of the southeastern Serengeti and after having giving birth to their offspring, start getting ready for their 800 kilometer long trek. The actual starting date may be anytime between late April and early June.

Is 7 days safari too much?

We recommend 5 - 7 day Safari for photographers or nature enthusiasts who want to visit multiple safari parks and have plenty of game viewing opportunities.

Where is the best place to see the wildebeest migration?
The Kogatende area in the northern Serengeti is a great place to catch the migration, between July and October but with July and August typically the peak months. There is a permanent pride of lions in the area that you can see year round, along with other leopards and cheetahs.
